Cowboy Ranchin' - with Branded Bison

An incredible experience for veterans looking to reconnect. This is a very unique event and not for everyone.  If you are looking to experience life as a cowboy or rancher, this is it. For this group, you will learn how to catch and saddle horses, herd cattle, brand and cut (seperate)  cattle...working with the guys who ranch sun up to sun down. 

*THIS IS A NON HUNTING EXPERIENCE. VETERANS MUST BE IN GOOD PHYSICAL HEALTH*

• (3) veterans. You must be mobile and able to swing on and off a horse.
• Arrive 10/6,  and depart 10/10
• You are more than welcome to drive if preferred and veterans interested in flying, will need to fly into Missoula or Kalispell
• Daily interaction with horses
• Wall tent sleeping experience (it will be cold!)
• Horseback for (4-5) days

Packing list will be provided once application and documents have been approved!

HERE"S WHAT TO EXPECT!

October 6th Thursday,

• 5:30pm Wishes get to Ranch
• 6:00pm Pick out horses and go over game plan.
• 7:30pm Dinner
• 10:30pm lights out

October 7th Friday,

• 5:00am wake up
• 5:15am Eat small breakfast,
• 5:30am Catch and Saddle Horses,
• 6:00-6:15am Start gathering cows at of Weeds Pasture
• 10:30am cows to the ranch
• 11:00am LUNCH
• 12:00 Sort herd 3 ways⁃ 2 yr old cows, wean and put with older pairs.
• 1:30pm Learn to Rope and BRAND FALL CALVES
• 4:30pm Gather Strays
• 6:30pm Dinner

October 8th Saturday,

• 6:00am wake up, eat breakfast
• 6:30am Catch and Saddle Horses
• 7:00am Gather yearlings.- Give heifers Estrumate shots.-Haul yearlings to HotSprings
• 1:00pm Lunch at HotSprings Restaurant
• 3:00pm Sort Bison at Buffalo Pasture.
• 6:30pm Dinner around

October 9th Sunday,

• Sleep in,
• 10:30am head to Sims HotSprings
• GET Own Lunch-
• Soak and Relax, eat lunch.
• 2pm leave the Ranch and head to Buffalo Pasture to Fish and enjoy dinner over open Fire.
• 6:00pm Catch and Saddle Horses, Swim cows.
